The AH Squid Squad seined today from Sunrise Park on James Island where we learned about estuaries and coastal ecology. We then visited Grice Marine Laboratory where we heard from marine biologists about current research projects taking place. We visited the wet labs, and the collection room where over 10,000 species are classified and stored. Our favorite part was visiting the touch tank where we could observe several different estuarine organisms close up. In total, we viewed thirty-one different species today. Check out our blog to follow our adventures and our research about these cool organisms.
We decided to choose this name because we were the only group to catch squids in our seine nets.
