Brief Squid


The Brief Squid (Lolliguncula brevis) is a small and clear squid and has dots on it, that change colors when frightened (which is a behavioral adaptation). It has large eyes (which is a structural adaptation) and several arm like tentacles that extend from it’s head and can shoot ink (which is a structural adaptation). The Brief Squid’s habitat is the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. It’s prey is bottom dwelling crustaceans, small fish, and fish larvae. It’s predators are birds, bigger fish, and sharks. The Brief Squid has a bilateral symmetry, also it is a heterotrophic (animal) and exothermic (warm-blooded). The Order of Classification for the Brief Squid is…
