Mullet
Mullet , Mugil cephalus . The Mullet is The mullet fish is long and the color is dark blush on the top and silver along the sides. It has small mouth with closely set of teeth and widely separated dorsal fins. The average weight is 2 to 3 pounds, but can excess to 6 pounds. The Domain is Eukaryote and the kingdom is Animalia. Phylum is Chordata and the class is Actinopterygii. Order is Mugiliformes and the family is Mugilidae. Genus is Mugil and species is Cephalus or curema. The Mullet fish is mostly found inshore. A Fun fact is that it can reach to 2.5 feet in length and 2 to 3 pounds of weight. The Mullet has bilateral symmetry. A structural adaptation is that it has streamlined bodies. Functional is that dorsal, pectoral, anal fins which help move faster in water. A behavioral is that strong muscular stomachs that make digestion easy. Mullet fish eats worms and small pieces of dead fish and other animal matter which is found on the seabed.some predators are sharks, dolphins, and pelicans.
