Kayaking Reflection

Kayaking was a wonderful experience for us because, you can’t move a double kayak with only one paddler. You and your partner had to collaborate with each other to for example, which side to paddle on or which way to turn, or even how to get out some sticky pluff mud! My partner and I were both very tired about halfway through the trip and we started to fall behind, but we decided that if we didn’t want to be the last ones to get back, we were going to have to paddle in sync, together! So we started to paddle and before we knew it we were passing people! I am very proud of everyone for paddling 3.5 long, long miles!
I saw so many organisms like spartina, dolphins, pelicans, seagulls, and many more! We learned so much about the history of our wonderful city, like how pluff mudd was originally plough mud! We also did an activity where we all stood up on our kayaks and made a human sailboat! I think that activity was to build trust because you had to rely on the person next to you to keep you steady when you stood up.
I loved this trip and can't wait to do more activities like this! Thank you so much Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Winslow, Our guides who led the way and educated us, and of course Emory {My partner}for making this all possible! I love Ashley Hall 6th grade!
